Let’s pretend it’s 2002 and blogs still matter. In this space I’ll be writing articles about everything we do at Strong Sports Gym. And more. I’m hoping to have guest bloggers as well.

The first piece will be about all that’s new here, in both the physical space and online.

We now have a real website and a scheduling app. We’ve been mostly off the radar since Covid made me poor, trying to piece things back together. Trust me, we’re basically invisible except for our Instagram. Google the location. It’s funny. Anyway, we are readying ourselves now to announce the new club and location to our extended circle of former students and friends.

First things first, SSG is now known as Strong Sports Social Club. The club is the gym and it’s variously referred to as Strong Sports, SSG, Strong Sports Gym, SSSC, The Club, The Gym, Strong Sports Social Club, etc. If you hang out here enough, you’ll get used to it. But the Club and the Gym are two different things that are accessed by members and non-members in different and distinct ways.

The Club is now private. What that means is many things. First, no uninvited people may ever enter the space. This accomplishes a few really cool things. First, I’m not looking over my shoulder all the time. The gym is secure from outside threats. If you ever trained in Chinatown you will know what I’m talking about. Second, no outsider can interrupt a class.

Okay, I could go on forever. I’ll update this entry soon. Have to get everything set up now.
